Forests Programme Officer - Landscape Finance (Maternity Cover)
Since 2019, the BirdLife International’s Forests Landscape Sustainability Accelerator, has invested in the people and innovations behind these landscapes. The Accelerator is designed to build knowledge, provide seed investment, facilitate collaborations and connect Partners to new opportunities. We aim to identify, develop, test and deliver sustainable financing solutions that can ensure conservation and social impact in these flagship landscapes long-term. Our goal is a network of self-sustaining programmes with a ‘bring it all together’ landscape-approach to strategy and funding that continue to protect forests, wildlife, and livelihoods into the future. The FPO-LF Maternity Cover will have three main areas of work:
Lead the BirdLife Forest Landscapes Sustainability Accelerator
Coordinate development of tools for impact measures and financing
Provide direct technical support on conservation enterprise and other sustainable finance topics

Forests Programme Officer - Trillion Trees
Trillion Trees is a joint venture for forests between BirdLife, Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS) and the Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF). Trillion Trees is our shared voice for forests. A major focus of this partnership is to develop and secure new pathways and large-scale funding for actions that increase global tree cover.
The role of the FPO-TT is to enable the BirdLife Partnership and Trillion Trees to strategically network our diverse forest conservation initiatives with key change-makers, funding sources and private sector interests in order to scale our work towards achieving the global goals. The FPO-TT will act as the Management Team representative for BirdLife on Trillion Trees, linking Trillion Trees to the BirdLife Partnership and Global Forests Programme.
The FPO-TT will have three main areas of work:
Trillion Trees Partnership Management: Harness the partnership opportunity that Trillion Trees provides for BirdLife International in enabling the scale-up of our Forest Programme and our contribution to the global forest agenda.
Large-scale fundraising: Mobilize resources for BirdLife priority forest landscape portfolio and Trillion Trees-strategic programmes.
Forest Landscape Restoration: Lead the development of a diverse portfolio of forest restoration projects from across the Partnership, and develop mechanisms with Trillion Trees to effectively channel funding to this portfolio.
